What does it stand for?

BPS is the British Psychological Society.

What is it?

The BPS is a registered charity acting as the representative body for psychologists in the UK. All of our psychologists are members of the BPS.

What do they do?

The society works to promote excellence and the ethical practice of psychology by enhancing the development and application of the discipline within the UK.

The BPS also aims to:

  • Set the standards for training psychologists at all levels
  • Provide accurate and appropriate information regarding psychologists and psychology to the public
  • Provide professional development opportunities to members
  • Set standards for research within the field of psychology.
