We have a dedicated multidisciplinary team including prosthetists, orthotists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists who can make sure that all of our patients are ready to make the most out of their new limbs and will provide any training that is needed or beneficial.
When we fit our patients with their limb/s, we will take time to ensure that everything is perfect. We want everyone to leave our clinic aware of the immediate impact that their new limb will have upon their everyday life or sporting activities.

When providing your new upper limb prosthesis, we will ensure that the limb fits comfortably and conduct final checks that the alignment of any sensors or cables is optimal. Your prosthetist will give you information about how to don and doff the prosthesis and how to look after it.
When you have been provided with the limb, you will work with your occupational therapist who will monitor your progress as they help you to learn to use your new limb to its full potential. They will encourage you to carry out tasks using your prosthetic limb to help you avoid over using your limb on one side if you have a sound arm or a preferential side. They can provide logs and reports so that you can see the difference these sessions are making over time.
You can take your new limb home with you as soon as it is manufactured and operating well. The only exception to this is where you have chosen to use a cosmetic cover, which will be manufactured to cover your arm once it is complete.Upper limb solutions
It may be necessary to have a course of physiotherapy after your new limb is setup to ensure that you use your limb in a safe way and develop the best habits to optimise your walking pattern. You will be advised of these recommendations after you have been assessed.
For lower limb prostheses we have dedicated gait analysis spaces where our experienced prosthetists will analyse the way you walk or run with your new prosthesis to fine tune the alignment and help ensure that you are using your new limb to its fullest potential. Should you wish, we can make and provide before and after videos so you can see the positive effect that your limb is having. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists can help you to move in the best way to make the most out of your new prosthetic limb and we can perform any calibration and realignment immediately.
At this stage we will also provide you with any socks that you might need for your new limb, and you can buy replacements through us at any time.
In most cases, you may take your new leg home and start using it as soon as it is correctly aligned. However, if you have chosen a cosmetic cover, then this will be added after the leg is finalised.Lower limb solutions

We have all-inclusive aftercare packages that include all the support you might need or you can book appointments when you need them. We don’t have waiting lists so you will always get immediate access to a clinician.
After we have provided your limb we are always on hand should you need help. We are dedicated to ensuring that everything is absolutely perfect. Find out more about our aftercare service.
